November 27, 2018

Al Ahlia Insurance Company announced a revolutionary new proposition for motor insurance. The company now offers customers to buy or renew their policies via WhatsApp.

Launched on the back of a vibrant new brand, this initiative re-energises the core philosophy of empowering customers and keeping them ‘One Step Ahead’, the company said in a press release. Core to this initiative is a superior and enriched customer experience, raising the bar significantly in Oman’s insurance industry.

Lloyd East, chief executive officer of RSA Middle East and Al Ahlia Insurance said, “In today’s business environment, our customers have high expectations from us. Our new offerings reflect these changing dynamics and our commitment to keep their interests at the center of our business. The WhatsApp proposition is a demonstration of our philosophy of ‘One Step Ahead’. It empowers our customers to quickly get a quote anywhere they are or find out more about the features and benefits of our products and services by simply chatting with us on WhatsApp.”

Introducing the proposition, Addal Sarwar, director – retail at Al Ahlia Insurance, said, “We want to make insurance as simple and as accessible as possible, so we have to be where our consumer is, and in today’s world, that’s WhatsApp. If a customer wants to purchase or renew a policy, all they need to do is WhatsApp us on 98883272. They can send us all their documents from their phone and choose from a range of accessible payment options.”

“We understand that WhatsApp is the most used social media platform in Oman, and one of the least utilised in business. For us, WhatsApp is a great platform that is accessed by over a million users daily in the sultanate. We look forward to offering many more firsts and revolutionise the insurance sector in Oman,” he added.

Once a customer gets in touch via Al Ahlia’s WhatsApp number, they will be offered a wide range of products to suit their needs to choose from based on their requirements. When a customer completes their inquiry and receives the quote for their desired product, they can make their payment by using their debit card, credit card via IVR or a secure payment gateway. Alternatively, they can also do a bank transfer and send a screenshot of the transaction confirmation to the insurance agent via WhatsApp. The customer can choose to get the policy on WhatsApp, registered email or by walking into their nearest Al Ahlia Insurance branch.
