Oman’s Islamic banking assets reach RO4.2bn in August
Total assets of Oman’s Islamic banks and windows rose to RO4.2bn as of the end of August 2018 compared to the same period a year ago.
The share of Islamic banking assets increased to 12.7 per cent of the total banking system assets in the sultanate as of August this year, according to the monthly statistical bulletin released by the Central Bank of Oman (CBO).
Islamic banking entities provided financing to the extent of RO3.4bn as of the end of August 2018, recording a growth of 17.2 per cent over the same period a year ago, the CBO statistics showed.
Total deposits at Islamic banks and windows also registered a significant growth to reach at RO3.1bn in August 2018 compared to RO2.8bn as of the end of August 2017.
