Oman to host 12th Middle East Health Insurance Conference
The Capital Market Authority (CMA), which is the regulator for insurance sector in Oman, is preparing for the 12th Middle East Health Insurance Conference with a wide international participation.
The conference will be hosted in Muscat for the second consecutive year during September 24-25 under the patronage of H E Dr Ali bin Masoud bin Ali al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry, the CMA said in a statement posted on its website on Monday.
The statement said the health insurance segment has witnessed a remarkable growth during past five years, with average annual growth reaching 26 per cent. The market share of health insurance reached 30 per cent of total insurance premiums in Oman.
The 12th Middle East Health Insurance Conference coincides with Oman’s preparations to implement health insurance for private sector employees and visitors. The conference aims to highlight health insurance, its benefits and to review regional and international experience in this field. The event also aims to promote awareness and knowledge of the policyholders’ rights in order to provide high quality health services.
Organised by Middle East Insurance Review, this international conference is considered a great opportunity to learn and benefit from the international and regional experiences on the regulation of health insurance market. The conference will be attended by international participants from operators and interested entities in developing health services and insurance and reinsurance companies. It will present a number of papers discussing regulatory issues related to providing health care services and medical insurance in the Middle East.
