World Heavy Oil Congress to begin tomorrow
Leading heavy oil professionals will gather tomorrow in Muscat at the World Heavy Oil Congress & Exhibition (WHOC) to examine and deliberate how rapid innovation and technological advancements in the heavy oil sector are reshaping the future oil mix.
To be held at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Center, this year’s WHOC event will feature a two-day strategic conference and a three-day technical conference alongside a three-day international exhibition, a press release said.
The strategic conference will kick off with a high level ministerial panel featuring H E Dr Mohammed bin Hamad al Rumhi, Oman’s Minister of Oil and Gas and H E Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Oil.
Moderated by CNBC’s business anchor Hadley Gamble, the session will discuss means of accelerating progress through the diversification of resources and the heavy oil sector’s role as an engine for job creation, technological innovations and disruptions.
Alongside the congress, WHOC will host an international exhibition where regional and international oil companies, service and technology providers will showcase the best technologies, products and services for the heavy oil sector.
The 2018 edition of the World Heavy Oil Congress & Exhibition is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Oil and Gas and co-hosted by PDO.
