My daughter Georgie did well in her exams and my wife Charlotte (aka Management) and I wanted to buy her a present. “I would really like a MacBook Pro, please,” came the immediate suggestion. I knew that Apple computers were top end prices, but she deserved her reward.
On a recent trip to Carrefour, whilst buying strawberries, my wife Charlotte (aka Management) asked the helper in the fruit department whether or not the punnets she had selected were pre-priced. “Yes, madam,” came the reply.
“So what’s it like living at The Wave, now, Nick?” I get asked a lot. “The advertising claims that The Wave has it all, is this right?”
The welcoming of any New Year is a chance to celebrate hope and expectation for the twelve months to come, plus of course the time to consider some resolutions to guide each of us along our chosen paths. This New Year I spent some time thinking about five places where something momentous could happen during 2012.
The press has been full of the changes to the remit and make-up to the Majlis A’Shura, bought about by the events of the Arab Spring of earlier this year. Many initiatives are underway to hand more power to the elected members, and for them to lead the way in the next phase of the growth of Oman.
