There is always the proverbial straw that ‘broke the camel’s back'. Almost 25 years ago, I, like thousands of other girls on the Delhi roads, faced a particularly troublesome episode at Jantar Mantar in the heart of Connaught Place.
I find it an extremely interesting coincidence that the two organisations I’ve been associated with over the last few years have both celebrated milestones in the course of the last week.
The last time I visited Paris was 11 years ago in bright and sunny June. This time I was there in November as our daughter Neha was to receive her basic Patisserie certification from La Cordon Bleu there on the 15th and it was like going to a completely different place.
Whenever I return from a holiday outside Oman I always look for the small changes that tell me what has happened during my absence. Of course, this is in addition to what I’ve been able to keep track of from the various social media sites that do a really good job of keeping me updated, and vice versa.
I've thought about this very often, and much more so when my daughter was growing up. Working in a full-time job, which left me mentally and physically tired at the end of the day, I tried my best to spend 'quality' time with her, particularly our evenings in the 'Jhoola (swing) park'.
