A perfect mix of entertainment
With over 40 rides in total at both Amerat Park and Naseem Gardens, the Muscat Festival is one of the loved events in Oman especially when it comes to children. Besides the fun rides, the festival also has a variety of entertainment shows and cartoon characters that are enough to engage the attention of children of all age groups.
Indian expatriate, Sachin Sha said that it is a challenge to keep children engaged in a fun and creative way generally but not at the festival. “Amerat Park has many rides and games at affordable prices that are enough to keep my children engaged. Among the many entertaining options, one of the most sought after is the Big Bubble. My children simply love it as it involves playing in water and rolling on and off. We are happy that it is safe,” said Sha.
Some of the other rides that are a hit with the children are bumper cars and merry go round. Salim al Balushi, a father to two children, thinks the festival is his way of getting his children closer to traditions. “I love the Muscat Festival because along with enjoying the games it is also a chance for me to take my children to the traditional village where they get to see the old way of life. I also make them taste authentic Omani food, especially the halwa.”
For homemaker Jasmine D’Souza the festival offers the perfect bowl of entertainment and culture. “I like to visit the traditional village, but my children get bored with such things and prefer the fun rides section. They want to spend time at the Bubble game area, so that I and my husband can enjoy the way we want.”
