Stemming from its strong commitment towards Corporate Social Responsibility, Bank Sohar recently extended its support to the Taqah branch of the Al Wafa Centre for Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities for the third consecutive year under its CSR campaign – Sohar al Atta. As an organisation devoted to the welfare of handicapped children in the sultanate, the funds will help in acquiring educational tools for its classrooms.

The donation cheque was handed over at Bank Sohar Salalah branch to Mariam bint Moshin al Mammary, centre manager for Al Wafa Centre for Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities - Taqah branch, by Munira Abdulnabi Macki-GM HR & Corporate Support at Bank Sohar.

Munira said, “As a community oriented bank, our mission is to be a catalyst in creating empowered societies and communities that draw strength from every contributing member. Over the years, we have been successful in effectively implementing this strategy, and, now our new CSR brand – Sohar al Atta – continues to take our reach and resources into underserved communities.

“Our contribution to the Al Wafa Centre for handicapped children’s education fulfills the bank’s objective to mobilise crucial resources towards aid organisations and welfare centers so that they can continue to improve lives.”

Thanking Bank Sohar for its magnanimous gesture, Mariam said, “We owe great thanks to Bank Sohar for their generous contribution, which demonstrates exactly how important it is that the private sector be part of the community building process. It also helps ensure that our endeavours reach the many disabled children who are in the centre’s care.

“Our ultimate goal is to rehabilitate these children and give them every opportunity to succeed as individuals.”

Bank Sohar’s contribution is among many similar gestures that lie at the heart of its philanthropic goals.
