Chinese naval delegation visits NDC, SAF Museum

Maj Gen Salim bin Musallam Qatan, commandant of the National Defence College (NDC) on Tuesday received Rear Admiral Shen Hao, deputy commander of the East Sea Fleet and head of the Chinese Navy Task Group 150, and his accompanying delegation.

They exchanged viewpoints on academic and strategic fields. The guest was briefed on the college, its facilities and modern equipment. The meeting was attended by Commodore Said bin Abdullah al Saedi, senior staff officer at the Royal Navy of Oman and Brig Mohammed bin Yarub al Saifi, acting assistant of the NDC commandant.

Rear Admiral Shen Hao and his accompanying delegation also visited the Sultan’s Armed forces (SAF) Museum.
The director of the museum briefed the guest and his delegation on manuscripts and models, as well as the Omani architecture in the Bait al Falaj castle.

The Chinese delegation was briefed on the progress enjoyed by SAF during the reign of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

At the end of the visit, the guest signed the visitors’ book, expressing his delight to view the beauty of the architectureof the sultanate, rich civilisational heritage and aspects of progress and prosperity the country enjoys today.
