Dar al Atta’a marks World Food Day, distributes 400 boxes to needy families
Dar al Atta’a Association recently celebrated World Food Day where a number of volunteers from institutions, school students and employees of the association helped process more than 400 boxes of supplies and food donated by institutions and companies and a number of individuals.
These were distributed to families in order to celebrate the World Food Day, which falls on October 16. The volunteers participated in the packaging of the food received by the association through donations for this occasion, such as rice, flour, oil, sugar, pasta, tea, coffee, dates and other dry and canned foods. The activity was characterised by joy, happiness and a sense of tenderness, which is the result of the sense of social responsibility of the members of the community. The large number of volunteers and the collected materials are evidence of the affection among members of the Omani society.
Dar al Atta’a Association thanked all volunteers, companies, institutions and all who participated in the success of this event, such as Omani Women Association in Qurm, where they were sorted and packed at the association hall, Bank Nizwa, Seeb International School, Shatti al Qurm School for girls, Azzan Bin Qais International School, Muscat International School, Al Qurm Model School, Azaiba School, Council of Medical Specialties, Middle East College, Oman Flour Mills Company, Lulu Hypermarket (Darsait), etc, which set up a great shopping event with the participation of hotels as Sheraton Oman Hotel, Grand Hyatt Muscat Hotel, etc.
