As part of its efforts in helping underprivileged students, at the start of the new academic year, Dar al Atta’a has provided school supplies, stationery and uniforms.

The charity organisation did so through voluntary contributions by Al Hadash National Trading, and a cash donation of RO6,000 by National Life & General Insurance Company, stated a press release.

Some RO1,500 was spent on stationery, another RO1,500 on school uniforms, while RO3,000 was allocated for school meals. After spending a week to sort out donations, the charity distributed them among schools and Dar al Atta’a families. This year 69 schools have benefited from Dar al Atta’a donations with 4,897 students from schools and 721 students from Dar al Atta’a families receiving stationery items. Some 2,198 students from schools and 877 from Dar al Atta’a families have received school uniforms.

Maryam Issa al Zadjali, chairperson, Dar al Atta’a, said that it provides school supplies at the start of the academic year. This support comes as part of the ‘Student Care Programme’ of the charity.

Furthermore, Dar al Atta’a organises an annual campaign named ‘Sponsor a Student’ and ‘Change for Change’.
