His Majesty the Sultan receives invite to attend 39th GCC Summit
His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said has received a written message from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud of Saudi Arabia inviting him to attend the 39th GCC Summit in Riyadh this month.
The message was received by Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, when he received on Monday Dr Abdul Latif bin Rashid al Zayani, secretary general, GCC. Dr Zayani conveyed the greetings of King Salman along with his best wishes to His Majesty the Sultan and the Omani government.
Sayyid Fahd asked the GCC secretary general to convey the greetings and best wishes of His Majesty the Sultan to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and also wished the Saudi government further success.
Sayyid Fahd affirmed that Oman, under the leadership of His Majesty the Sultan, has been always keen on enhancing the joint GCC march and fraternal ties among its states to realise the aspirations of a prosperous future and stability for the people. Both sides touched on the issues listed on the summit’s agenda. The GCC secretary general conveyed his wishes and thanks to His Majesty the Sultan for his constant support to the GCC and its Secretariat General to serve the joint interests. The meeting was attended by Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs.
