Indian School Sohar conducts waste paper collection campaign
The volunteers of Green Gyan-Eco Club of Indian School Sohar are determined to take a vow to keep Oman cleaner and greener by recycling waste. To accomplish this, students of classes III-V participated in a campaign to collect waste papers, newspapers, books, magazines and drop it in the paper recycle bin installed in the school premises.
The drive was initiated by the club coordinator Kamal Prasad Gurung and section coordinator Saima Ahmad.
The Principal, Sanchita Verma, and the section supervisor, Alka Singh, also encouraged young volunteers to participate and spread the message of recycling paper waste in the neighbourhood and help in saving the environment. The response of the students was overwhelming, which made this campaign a great and successful one. The result was that one tonne of paper waste was collected.
