MoHE wins Best Quality Leadership Award at ceremony in Germany
The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) won the Best Quality Leadership Award for the year 2019 at an awards ceremony held by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR) held in Berlin, Germany, on Sunday.
MoHE received the award along with 56 management companies and public institutions representing different sectors of Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa and Australia. The award, recognised by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), is given to companies, institutions, government departments and sectors from around the world that have demonstrated outstanding leadership by taking innovative initiatives to advance quality development.
The European institution selects companies, institutions and government departments based on the results of consumer opinion surveys and market research conducted by the institution. Dr Zayed bin Ahmed Zabanout, director General of Planning and Development, and chairman of the Quality Committee and head of the Excellence Project at MoHE, said, “We are proud of this achievement. This is the result of hard work in developing innovative services for beneficiaries and improving and re-engineering procedures through the Excellence Project implemented with the European Foundation for Quality Management, which has been developing e-services for 144 users.”
EFQM, based in Lausanne, Switzerland, was established in 1987 with the aim of strengthening cooperation between organisations concerned with quality, excellence and sustainability and building a network of relationships involving all members of the organisation from governmental and private institutions of all sizes in different sectors around the world.
