MoM celebrates Omani Environment Day
The Ministry of Manpower (MoM) launched the sultanate’s celebrations to mark Omani Environment Day, which is observed on January 8 every year, on Tuesday.
An event was organised by the Environment and Climate Affairs Administration in the Governorate of North Batinah at Majan Hall in the wilayat of Sohar.
The event was held under the patronage of H H Sayyid Marwan bin Turki bin Mahmoud al Said in the presence of H E Najeeb bin Ali al Rowas, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs, and a number of walis, honourable members of the State Council, Majlis A’Shura, public and private officials.
The event included recitation of poems and traditional Omani songs, in addition to a presentation on the sultanate’s efforts to conserve the environment. An exhibition with displays by a number of public and private organisations on their role in preserving the environment was also opened on the occasion.
