MoT asks engineering, architecture firms to register credentials

The Ministry of Tourism (MoT) has called on engineering, architecture and design consultancy firms in Oman to register their credentials with the ministry. The move is part of MoT’s efforts to compile a list of accredited firms which will give investors the opportunity to choose from professional consultants.

“The Ministry of Tourism desires to compile an accredited list of engineering, architecture and design consultancy offices in order to prepare technical studies for tourism projects. The application process is followed by evaluation, then shortlisting of the appropriate firms. The aim of the accredited list is to provide an opportunity for investors to choose from among professional consultants in the tourism sector,” the ministry stated.

Interested firms can download the application form from the ministry’ website and submit it along with details of its organisational structure, tourism project experiences and sample brochure and portfolio.

The ministry stated that the application process is open to both international and local companies. “The inclusion of firms within the approved list does not mean the ministry’s direct approval of the schemes, drawings and designs submitted by those offices for any tourism project to the ministry,” it said. Firms that have been approved will be notified via a text message.
