April 10, 2019

Piya Prakash Pawani, a model from Oman had won the La Femme Worldwide, a beauty pageant featuring women from all over the world under the category of Mrs International 2019.

The pageant, which was held in the Indian state of Goa, saw contestants from across the world. Piya is also the winner of Mrs India 2018 title last year.

Speaking about the event, Piya said, “Victory for me is when I know I have utilised my potential, talent and capabilities to the fullest without focusing much on just the rewards. I embarked on this journey with a clear intention of representing all the Indians in Oman. I vaguely had an idea of what to expect and how to prepare. I brushed up my basics and did a lot of research too.”

Some advice from participants of similar pageants and mentors too helped her bag the crown. “But to be honest, at the back of my head, I went in as a complete fresher, with an open mind to learn.”

Piya gives full credit to the three very strong women in her life. ”My mother, mother-in-law and my daughter are the three strong women in my life from whom I draw my inspiration. My father and husband too have stood by me as support system.”

The enthusiastic Piya does not want to stop here. “My next plan will be to do something for women in Oman and make sure there are more participants from this country on different international platforms.”

Piya has a long list of people who have stood by her and helped her reached the place where she is now. “I would like to thank Radhika Wagh and Prashant Solapurkar for considering and believing in me. Thank you my mentors Manjiri Jamkhindikar, Pallavi Kaushik, Swati Jain, Roshni Kapoor, Sanjay Kannan Nalini Dhir, Sonal Panchal, Alesia Raut Surryavanshi, Anjali Raut and the entire team of Avyukta Media for all the love and support.”

Piya also thanked the judges who always encouraged her to stand strong. “Thank you judges Manini Mishra, Anjali Mody and Raghav Sharma. Your positive feedback gave me more strength and motivation to move forward,” she added.
