NCSI conducts survey to check uptake of ICT among Omani, expat population
The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) has started a survey to measure access and use of information and communications technology (ICT) among the Omani as well as expatriate population.
The survey is expected to provide some important indicators on how well ICT is used in the sultanate.
The survey, which continues until January 17, will cover 2,500 people in the age group of 18 years and above in all governorates of the sultanate. The survey is being conducted in three languages: Arabic, English and Urdu.
The study is expected to provide indicators on the percentage of smartphone ownership and use, and their applications. It will also cover households, whether they have a computer (desktop, laptop, or tablet), taking also into account the percentage of individuals who use computer, and the level of computer skills.
