NFC ferries 8,098 passengers and 1,769 vehicles during Nov 20-24 holidays
The National Ferries Company (NFC) had a high occupancy rate of 75 per cent in passenger numbers and 69 per cent in vehicle transportation during the period from November 20 to 24, which included the holidays on the occasions of the birthday of Prophet Mohammed and the National Day.
NFC transported 8,098 passengers and 1,769 vehicles during this period. Statistics show that 61 services were operated on the Shannah-Masirah route, which transported 6,511 passengers with 73 per cent occupancy rate, in addition to 1,559 vehicles with 71 per cent occupancy rate. NFC added that seven services were operated on the Shinas-Khasab route, carrying 935 passengers, with an occupancy rate of 85 per cent, and 184 vehicles with occupancy rate of 86 per cent.
The statistics also show that two services were operated on the Shinas-Dibba route, transporting 134 passengers with 67 per cent occupancy, and 26 vehicles with 72 per cent occupancy. The Lima-Dibba route had 86 per cent passenger occupancy rate; six services operated on the route transported 518 passengers.
