Naseem Gardens to host over 30 thrilling rides for Muscat Festival
Muscat Festival visitors at Naseem Gardens can look forward to some new amusement rides this year. More than 30 amusement rides will be set up this year for the visitors. Seerabeece for Exhibition and International Festivals said that the rides will be extremely exciting. Four of these rides will be for adults.
“Everytime we aim to offer something for everyone. We do not want to make the rides monotonous so we try to introduce new each time. We do not forget children as they too are an important part of the festival,” Mohammed Irfan, accounts manager, Seerabeece for Exhibition and International Festivals said. The new rides are Octopus, Evolution, Freesbie and Bomber.
“The cost of the ticket for the rides will begin from RO1,” he said. Other rides include Sling Shot, Miami Dolphin, Crazy Dance, Dashing Car, Amour Express, Wacky Worm, Inflatables, and Water Boats amongst others. What’s new Octopus: With five to eight arms attached to a central axis, it will spin, move up and down randomly, while cars at the end of the arms, either attached directly to the arm or fixed on spinning crosses, spin freely or stay in place, depending on the type of the ride. Each Octopus ride has the arms attached to the middle of the ride.
Evolution: It is a large thrill ride manufactured by Fabbri Group in Italy. It consists of four inclined pillars which support a revolving arm. On one end of the arm are some counterweights and on the other is a rotating hub which holds ten cars.
Freesbie: It is a type of pendulum amusement ride featuring a circular gondola that rotates as it swings back and forth. Riders are seated on the gondola facing inward or outward depending on the model.
Bomber: The 50m tall Bomber is a high rise, high speed ride which sees riders thrown forward at speeds of up to 90mph. Sitting in spinning gondolas, visitors race towards the sky and ‘bomb’ to the ground at high speed.
Some of the other rides include, G Force which is like the Bomber but still remains the deadliest and adventurous of all the rides. Trampoline too makes a reappearance keeping in mind the interests of children, said Irfan.
