Over 500 labour law violators arrested in Dhahirah: MoM

The Ministry of Manpower (MoM) has announced that the inspection team in Dhahirah arrested 502 workers for various  labour law violations in Q1 this year. Of these 220 were deported. The inspection campaigns were conducted on several private sector facilities. 

The violators have been referred to the judicial authorities for further investigations. Several measures are initiated against workers employed illegally.

“After collecting evidence, legal action is initiated against them. Under Article 114 of the Omani Labour Law, fines will be imposed on violators, workers will be deported, the violating facility will be banned for a period of up to two years and it will not be allowed to bring in new workers,” said MoM.
