RNO’s Shabab Oman II to start voyage to Europe on April 30
The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) vessel Shabab Oman II will set off on its first voyage to Europe on April 30. During the six-month journey to Europe, the vessel will take part in the tall ships races to be held in the Baltic Sea.
RNO on Monday organised a visit for local media organisations and unveiled details of the upcoming voyage. Lt Commander Ali bin Mohammed al Hosani, Commanding Officer of Shabab Oman II said, “This vessel is replacing Shabab Oman I which achieved the vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to spread cultural and civilisational communications between the sultanate and various countries around the world.”
During a presentation, Lt Commander Hosani reviewed the voyages made by Shabab Oman I and its wins at the prestigious International Friendship Cup ten times.
