Rumours that the birth spacing method causes cancer not true : MOH

Ministry of Health has denied social media rumours alleging that a birth spacing method caused cancer.

In response to what is being circulated via the social media for the damage caused by the birth spacing method (Implant) that causing cancer, an medical source at the Ministry of Health (MOH), Women & Child Health Department denied the circulated message and stressed the safety of this method, confirming that this method is just like any other method containing progesterone such as the injections and single-hormone pills.

The official source also reaffirmed that the message has no any scientific evidence supported. Introducing the method to the Sultanate came based on studies and recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) on its safety and it is used by 100 countries around the world.
