Shabab Oman II showcases culture, heritage

The Royal Navy of Oman vessel Shabab Oman II  received around 40,000 visitors in three days at the Armada maritime festival in the French city of Rouen.

Shabab Oman II  is taking part in the seventh edition of Armada, one of the largest gatherings of sailboats and warships in the world, in Rouen from June 6 to 16.

The vessel’s crew showcased Oman’s maritime heritage and culture to the visitors.


Shabab Oman II  is visiting 20 ports and cities in Asia, Africa and Europe. The European leg of the journey is titled ‘Masts of Glory and Peace’.

After the Armada festival, it will take part in the Liberty Tall Ships Regatta – Scheveningen 2019 in the Netherlands from June 20 to 23. The vessel will then compete in the Tall Ships Regatta from July 3 to 6 in Aalborg in Denmark. Then, the vessel will take part in the Tall Ships Regatta in Aarhus, Denmark from August 1 to 4.
