Startup Oman is finalist for Arabian Business Awards

October 17, 2017

Startup Oman (www.startupoman.om), the sultanate's only online platform created by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, has been selected as a finalist in the Arabian Business Awards.

Arabian Business is a weekly business magazine published in Dubai and focusing on the Middle East. The Arabian Business Startup Awards were introduced in 2013 to celebrate the entrepreneurs that have made an impact on the business landscape of the Middle East.

From the Young Entrepreneur of the Year through to the Start Up Company of the Year, the awards seek to give the innovators who are building new businesses in the region a platform to have their achievements recognised and rewarded in front of their peers at a lavish gala dinner and awards ceremony.

The finalists for the Arabian Business StartUp Awards 2017 have been unveiled. The awards recognise the region’s outstanding entrepreneurs, investors, accelerators, mentors, SMEs, funding initiatives and start-ups at a gala dinner and awards ceremony on October 24 in Dubai.

Startup Oman is the only entrepreneurial programme nominated from Oman in it’s category of ‘Startup Programme of the Year’.

On this occasion, Ali Daud, founder of Startup Oman, said, We’re proud to be recognised among the top entrepreneurial programmes of the region, and to be the only programme nominated from Oman. We are honoured to be recognised for the work we’re doing and we hope that this adds momentum to entrepreneurship in the sultanate.”

The full shortlist was yielded from over 350 nominations that were assessed under the following categories: Entrepreneur of the Year, SME of the Year, Mentor of the Year, Incubator/Accelerator of the Year, New Media Start-up of the Year, Social Enterprise of the Year, Start-up of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Intrapreneur of the Year, Investor of the Year, Funding Initiative of the Year, Start-up Programme of the Year and SME Leader of the Year.

The nominations are being scrutinised by a diverse panel of judges.
