Ten cases of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) have been detected in Oman this year, the Ministry of Health (MoH) has said. Of these, four have died.

In a statement, MoH said that it is continuing its efforts to monitor and control the spread of disease.

MoH said that it will increase surveillance measures in all hospitals and healthcare centres. “We support the early detection of the infected and reduce the spread in the society. We appeal to citizens and residents to cooperate with health officials.”
