The Sultan’s School charity art auction raises RO12,000
The Sultan’s School raised RO12,000 for the Oman Down Syndrome Association (ODSA) at its sixth annual charity art auction recently.
Bids were held for over 150 pieces of art, donated by students, parents and established Omani artists. Over 200 people attended the auction. The guests of honour at the event were H H Sayyid Tariq bin Shabib bin Taimur and Habib al Zawawi from ODSA, stated a press release.
While, seven year old Sharifa al Junaidi’s work sold for an impressive RO200, local artist Anwar Sonya’s incredible work fetched a whopping RO2,500.
Heather Ford, who had organised the auction said she was overwhelmed with the generosity. “This is a fantastic example of our community at work, showing us the importance of giving back to those who need our help.”
Dr Glenn Canterford, principal of The Sultan’s School, thanked everyone for making the auction a success.
