Tour of Oman 2019 to be held from Feb 16-21

The Tour of Oman 2019 will take place from February 16 to 21, the Muscat Municipality announced on Monday. This will be the tenth edition of the annual race. Team Astana’s Alexey Lutsenko clinched the title in the ninth edition of the race this year, which began in Nizwa.

Lutsenko was joined on the overall podium by his teammate Miguel Angel Lopez as runner-up. Bahrain-Merida’s Gorka Izagirre rounded up the overall podium after Alexander Kristoff of UAE Team Emirates won the bunch sprint of the sixth and final 135.5km stage ahead of Bryan Coquard (Vital Concept) and Giacomo Nizzolo (Trek-Segafredo) at the Muttrah Corniche.

Tour of Oman has achieved remarkable success in the past editions. The annual event has attracted the attention of global sport community as the cyclists pass through some of the most scenic locales of Oman during the various stages of the race every year.
