Tropical Cyclone Vayu not to impact sultanate

The National Multi Hazard Early Warning System has said that Tropical Cyclone Vayu is not likely to have any effects over the sultanate’s coasts in the next three days.

The weather condition is located over the east of the Arabian Sea with estimated surface wind speed around the centre ranging between 80 and 90 knots, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) stated on Wednesday.

The centre is about 1,270km away from the sultanate’s coast (Ras al Madrakah), according to the PACA bulletin. Latest prediction shows continuous movement of the cyclone towards north to northwest direction along the western coasts of India.
