Two-day Muscat International Oncology Conference begins
The ninth Muscat International Oncology Conference, organised by the National Oncology Centre at The Royal Hospital, began at the Grand Millennium hotel on Wednesday. The event began under the patronage of H E Dr Mohammed bin Saif al Hosni, Undersecretary for Health Affairs in the Ministry of Health.
The conference, which hosts 48 lecturers from 15 countries, includes seven scientific sessions with 58 working papers.
Topics related to oncology, including cancer treatment and diagnosis, chemical therapy, surgery, radiation therapy, nursing oncology, and the palliative care for patients are being discussed. The two-day forum aims at familiarising participants with latest advancements in cancer diagnosis and treatment. H E Dr Hosni launched the cancer cases statistics bulletin. It is annually prepared by MoH's Cancer Registry Department and has details of new cancer cases.
