UK higher education expo welcomes students to explore new courses
Al Ahlam Higher Education’s latest edition of the UK Education Expo officially began at the Grand Millenium Hotel on Monday. The two-day expo was inaugurated by H E Sayyid Salim bin Musallam al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs in the Ministry of Civil Service in the presence of Russ Dixon, Deputy Ambassador, British Embassy, Muscat.
H E Sayyid Busaidi emphasised the importance of higher education for Omani students, stating that if Oman is to grow and diversify its economy then it is essential that parents and students are informed about the wide variety of programmes available. Well-regulated educational fairs make access to such information much easier and ensure that students graduate with a qualification from a first-rate institution.
Kate Clarke, managing director and student advisor of Al Ahlam Higher Education Services, supported H E Sayyid Busaidi and stated that the future of the country lies in the hands of the youth, who need to be highly skilled and knowledgeable. “Education is important in promoting consistent, inclusive and equitable economic growth for the sustainable development of any country. Ensuring quality higher education is one of the most important things we can provide for future generations. UK institutions offer fit for purpose education, whose graduates are highly sought after by employers due to their transferrable skills and seamless transition to the workplace.”
The expo welcomes those interested in pursuing their higher education in the UK to explore a variety of courses being offered and meet representatives from universities, higher education institutions and English language course providers.
The expo will be held in Sohar on Wednesday and Thursday at the Crowne Plaza Sohar. It will be open to visitors from 4.30pm to 8.30pm.
