Local cricket: MDC Enhance Eagles lifts A Division crown again
MDC Enhance Eagles retained the Oman Cricket A Division title on Friday after defeating OCT Muscat by two wickets at Amerat.
Parameswaran Shankar’s sensational spell saw his pick six for 31 to lead Enhance Eagles to its seventh victory from the eight matches it played this season to total 28 points.
Renaissance CT and IT Works finished with 24 points each were next but the former claimed the runner-up spot on a better net run rate (+1.879) compared to IT Works. (+1.276).
Having bowled OCT Muscat out for modest 134 in 26 overs, Eagles was struggling at 29 for four in six overs before opener Ghazanfar Iqbal’s 53 off 32 helped it reach 90 in 14 overs. Ghazanfar’s departure triggered another collapse and Eagles was eight down for 102 before a 35-run unbeaten partnership between Adeel Abbas (13) and Allan Gawdya (18) saw it home in 26 overs.
For Enhance Eagles it was the fourth A Division title.

Goud, Khan guide Muscat to big win
A huge 218-run stand between national team players – Sandeep Goud (117) and Ayaan Khan (108 n.o) - led Muscat CT to a 158-run win over Enhance CT in an Oman Cricket Premier Division game at Amerat on Friday.
Enhance had reduced Muscat to 55 for five in 15 overs but Goud and Khan guided Muscat to 286 for seven. Sufyan Mahmood picked up four for 51.
Enhance never recovered from the early blows of Muscat seamer Munis Ansari (three for 17) as it was down to 49 for five and then slid further to 83 for nine.
A 45-run partnership between Nestor Dhamba (22 n.o.) and Mazhar Alam (22) only delayed the inevitable as it was bowled out for 128.
