Muscat draws with Sohar; Seeb in semis
Former champions Muscat was held to a 3-3 draw by Sohar in a Pool B match of the His Majesty's Cup Hockey Championship at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on Saturday.
The draw left the pool wide open with Muscat garnering a point after Saturday's draw following its big 6-3 win over Salalah in its opening match.
Defending champion Al Nasr was to play Salalah in a late game with a win sealing its place in the semis after it had defeated Sohar 4-1 in its opening match. On Monday, Sohar will meet Salalah while Muscat will take on Al Nasr in their concluding league games.
Earlier on Friday night, record 11-time winners Seeb became the first team to reach the semifinals. Playing in Pool A, which also features Ahli-Sidab,
Dhofar and Al Salam, Seeb won two matches in a row to qualify.
