Oman plays goalless draw with Jordan in friendly
Hosts Jordan were held to a goalless draw by Oman in an international football friendly at Amman on Tuesday night.
It was the second successive goalless draw by Pim Verbeek's Red Warriors in a span of three days.
On Sunday, Oman and Lebanon were involved in a goalless stalemate. Oman was in Jordan for a 12-day preparatory camp for the AFC Asian Cup 2019.
The 17th edition of the Asian Cup will be held across the UAE from January 5-February 1.
Oman's Dutch coach will hold a total of five training camps and a number of international friendly matches ahead of the Asian Cup.
Oman will hold its second camp in Doha, Qatar, from October 7 to 16 during which it will play two friendlies - against Yemen on October 14 and Ecuador on October 16.
The team will then gather for a camp in Muscat from November 11 to 20, during which it will play two friendlies – against Syria on November 16 and against Kyrgyz Republic on November 19. That will be followed by another camp from December 7 to 22 in Muscat.
Ahead of the Asian Cup, the team will undergo its final training camp in the UAE from December 22.
During the UAE camp, Oman has finalised friendlies against India (December 27), Australia (December 30) and Thailand (January 2, 2019).
At the Asian Cup UAE 2019, Oman is in Group F with Japan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. It begins its campaign against Uzbekistan on January 9.
