Meshal al Shehi in action during the final of the junior (U17) category

Shehi siblings – Meshal and Moaz -  cornered glory at the Oman age-group table tennis tournament that concluded at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on Saturday. While Meshal emerged champion in the junior (U17) category, Moaz won the cadet (U14) title. 

Organised by the Oman Table Tennis Committee (OTTC), the final of the third category, hopes (U12), will be held next month when the cadet teams' championship will be organised.

Moaz defeated Mundhir al Ghassani 3-1 for the cadet's title while Meshal edged his younger brother, Moaz, 3-1, in the junior summit match.

Earlier in the junior semifinals, Meshal defeated Mohammed al Balushi 3-1 and Moaz trounced Mundhir 3-0.

The final of the hopes event will see a clash between Ahmed al Riyami and Mohammed al Mutawa. Ahmed got the better of Aiman al Shehi and  Mohammed outplayed Omar al Ghassani in the semifinals.
