Flavors leads the way

February 20, 2011

After meeting some old friends or after a business meeting, you may ask people for  some details to stay in touch. But staying in touch these days can have several options.

You have the normal communication channels like the phone and the fax. Other options include 'electronic' channels like emails and blogs. But now, you have your presence even on multiple social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, and choosing a channel may be difficult.

A good idea would be to design a page and upload it online with all your details and share its address, but it's a difficult process if not from the hosting maze.

Here comes a service called Flavors.me. It simply allows you to create one page profile with all your contents from different websites and services.

Imagine you want to share your channel on Youtube, your gallery in Flickr or Picasa or on  your blog feed.

It will be difficult to post these addresses at so many places again and again, but by adding them to your page at Flavors, you can direct all your links to one page and display the contents of each service in a single site.

You can customise everything starting from the interface, where you can write a brief about yourself and create an instant contact form.

It's very easy to create and customise your profile on Flavors. Using predefined settings, you just have to drag and drop the services you want to have and it's all done.

Flavors supports more than 20 known services including social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and blogging service providers like Tumblr, Blogger, Posterous, Wordpress and multimedia websites like Youtube, Last.fm, Netflix, Flickr, Picasa, Vimeo and many more.

Even if you are not satisfied with the available services, you can add any website feed and display it on your page.

Very simple options are available to design your profile.

The service is smooth and simple, but advanced options are available too, as you can link your profile to a personal domain instead of  http://flavors.me/your_name

This is  much easier to remember and share. Plus, analytics are provided to see who is linking back to you, how many visitors you got and what links they clicked on.

One of the advantages of setting up an account in such a service is that it will prevent Facebook, Twitter or any other social network sites from occupying the top spot, if someone searches your name.

Its your business card online, whether you are using it professionally or not.

A lot of similar services are available online such as retagger, card.ly, chi.mp and viewbook, but the simplicity and the unique splash page style of Flavors makes it the best choice out there.

And, if you can keep this secret between you and me read this: I sometimes forget which services I've signed up for and this would be useful for me at least to remember where I have been online!

Flavors is a paid service, you can still create a free account with limited features and it can be accessed from http://flavors.me
